Who is it for?
Anyone over the age of 16. No prior experience is necessary. In the same way anyone might want to learn CPR and emergency first aid, so too you can learn first aid for suicide intervention. What is it? The ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) model can help you make a real difference to the person in need. It equips the participant with effective suicide first aid intervention skills; to help identify and support vulnerable people and sign post them to the appropriate help and support. ASIST is a globally recognised, accredited, comprehensive 2 day training programme developed in 1983 and delivered by providers in a standardised format which is regularly updated to ensure training is in line with current knowledge and research. It has been delivered to over a million participants worldwide and has changed lives. SCHOOLS....

Your Trainers For ASIST......
Marianna is an experienced Clinical Psychologist, EMDR Practitioner and Trainer. Her specialist areas are in child and family issues, working with adolescents, complex trauma work (both military and civilian) and chronic pain management. Marianna has set up and spoken at, conferences, workshops and groups within the NHS and Military Health Care. She is involved in training other health professionals and provides Clinical Supervision. Marianna is passionate about de-stigmatisation of mental health and promoting positive mental health, particularly to young people.

Helen works as a CBT Therapist, EMDR Practitioner, Integrative Psychotherapist and Trainer. She works with adults and adolescents addressing a variety of stress related problems including depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress. She has worked with serving personnel, veterans, emergency services and the general public. She also volunteers in youth work.
Helen is also experienced in mental health promotion, presentations, workshops and professional supervision. Helen believes in an individual holistic approach and is a strong advocate of the mind/body connection and of making our mental well-being a priority. "We're just as mental as we are physical and we need to take care of both!" |
