Using Crystals in Therapy....
Natural crystals have been used for healing, protection, decoration and in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. Ancient Greek, Egyptian and Chinese cultures believed them to have healing properties. Crystals are said to be one of the most organised and stable examples of physical matter in the natural world. In modern technology, crystals are used in watches, phones and computers to stabilise and balance the movement of electrical energy.
The human body, as with all matter, consists of molecules, atoms and electrons which transfer energy. The body utilises energy in it's processes, including in building and healing. Even feelings and emotions are affected by the way in which our electrons move around, rather like the current in an electric circuit which turns the light on and off when you switch the switch or turn the dimmer up or down. Crystals are minerals consisting of different compounds and elements, each of which it is believed that our body responds to in varying ways. It would seem feasible that as the human body is a producer and a conductor of energy that requires a balance to function effectively, that crystals may have the potential to help balance the body's energies. Whilst there is little modern research into the healing properties of different crystals, they are still considered by many to possess specific properties to help with various physical, mental and spiritual issues. Whilst I would not advise the use of crystals to replace medical intervention and advice, it is without doubt that many people find them a lovely compliment to their self-care, with many reporting a sense of peace and well-being with their use. How will I benefit? Many clients find a Crystal Therapy session relaxing. Some report feeling energised, balanced or grounded afterwards. We can all benefit from giving ourselves some time out, doing so in a tranquil environment, with a guided meditation and feeling pampered is relaxing. Finding different ways to relax the body ultimately reduces stress, and thereby helping to improve health.
Crystals are said to be useful for many different problems. As the crystals are placed and activated you may experience a number of sensations; some clients notice pleasant tingling or warmth, some will see colours, some just feel a pleasant relaxation. Overall many find it a useful part of their self-care and stress relief. What happens in a session? In a Crystal Therapy Session, after a short assessment, you will lie on the couch with pillows to ensure you are able to lay as comfortably as possible. You will remain clothed and be provided with a blanket if you would like one. You will be guided in a short breathing meditation and will have different small crystals placed on your body - you will have at least one crystal placed at each of the 7 main Chakra points (these are energy points on your body). You may also have others placed, and sometimes quite a lot! The process of laying the crystals on your body and allowing some time to relax with them can take approximately 45 minutes. Your appointment slot is booked for an hour to allow for getting settled and for reviewing the process. If you would like someone to accompany you, they will be able to sit comfortably in a chair near you, however we would ask that they remain quiet throughout the session to allow you to fully relax, so it is recommended that they bring a book with them or quiet activity, (we would ask for mobile phones not to be used ) to avoid any disturbance to you whilst you are relaxing.

Crystals can also be added to your Reiki or Indian Head Massage appointment or you can have a full Crystal Therapy Session.
